Matthew and Patricia divorced a little after Cole’s eighteenth birthday. His brother and sister went with his mother to Boston, and he and his father stayed in Waterbury. Cole and Matthew had always been pretty cool, whereas Cole saw his mother as a nagging, depressive (and depressing!) bitch. Because he had chosen to remain with his father, Cole’s mother and siblings stopped talking to him. He hasn’t spoken to them or seen them in years.

Shortly after the divorce, Matthew Leary began drinking heavily. The two still shared the same interests (music, movies, etc), but as time went by Matthew began to lose a lot of his personality. He ignored his son quite a bit and spent most of his time locked in his room and drinking. Matthew neglected paying any sort of bills or rent, stopped going to work, and began selling his possessions – including some of Cole’s things – to afford the bottle. After a year of struggling to pay rent and bills on his own, Cole became frustrated and moved out. He moved into a flat with his best friends – his band mates.

The foursome – vocalist and guitarist Cole, drummer Chris Byron, bassist and girlfriend Cheryl White, and guitarist Adam Larriu – shared an apartment, playing shows and working part-time jobs to support themselves. Cole and Cheryl had a dysfunctional relationship. Cole was constantly afraid of her leaving him, pushing her further and further away in the process.

Cole has never been admitted or seen a counselor until he checked himself into rehab. Each patient is assigned a counselor to help with the rehabilitation process, but Cole’s counselor saw that there was something else that needed to be taken care of. She suggested he see a psychiatrist and referred him to a nearby institution.

The Waterbury institution he was staying in closed, leaving him to be transferred to Cherry Hollow. He will be transferred sometime this March, and has been staying in the Behavioral Disorder part of Waterbury Hospital until transfer.

Cole is a patient in the </a></b></a>amplified_rpg and is a product of a person with nothing much better to do. Most unfortunately, I have no affiliation with Mr. Keith Urban. He's just playing my character because he looks so good when he broods. Don't even think about suing me; there ain't much to sue for.
